Ministry
Shalom was started in the year 1989 as a small prayer group. In time God gave it a vision - a vision to spread the word of God through mass media and to intercede for the whole world with an aspiration to save souls.
The realization of this vision started with the launch of our Malayalam monthly magazine "Shalom Times" in the year 1993. To reach out to the non-Malayalees, especially to people outside India, "Shalom Tidings", our English bi-monthly magazine was started in the year 1996. Towards initiating unity in the Church and to support it in every possible way, we started the Sunday newspaper "Sunday Shalom" in the year 1999. Along with this we have many a number of spiritually enlightening books on our shelf.
Towards televangelism Shalom started its Television ministry "Shalom Vision" in the year 1998. We were able to broadcast 11 half-hour programmes named "Samadhanam Nammodukoode" in the "Asianet" channel till September 1999.
Our dream of a full time television channel has now come into realisation with its launch in the month of March 2005. Shalom Television is a truly Christian value based channel that would cater to every cross-section of the society. We intend to bring to the viewers the answer to their day to day problems and pressures of life; to bring solace and healing from the One who is always available to all who search for Him.
By providential grace we have got the privileage to associate ourselves with Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN), the largest religious media network in the world, transmitting programming 24 hours a day to more than 105 million homes in 110 countries and 16 territories on more than 3,400 cable systems, wireless cable, Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS), low power TV and individual satellite users. Besides airing their English programmes right now we intend to air them with Malayalam translations. For more details on EWTN, log on to www.ewtn.com
